A selection of silver bullion coins from different countries

Silver Bullion Coins

Whether you're cashing in a single coin or a full collection, we offer highly competitive rates and a transparent, hassle-free service for selling silver bullion coins from any country.

From American Eagles to Austrian Philharmonics, Canadian Maples to UK Britannias - silver bullion coins are a popular way to invest in precious metals, and they come in many shapes, sizes and purities. While the spot price of silver determines much of their value, the exact payout depends on the coin's weight and silver content, which we assess accurately and fairly. We buy bullion coins in any condition, whether freshly minted, circulated, or lightly tarnished.

So, if you're looking to release funds from your investment or simply want a no-obligation valuation, Gold Traders makes selling silver coins secure, simple, and worthwhile.

Ready to sell your Silver Coins?

Whether you have a single coin or a full collection, we make it easy to sell silver bullion coins at top market rates. As long as your coins are primarily valued for their metal content, not collectability, we're interested. That includes coins issued by government mints across the world, typically marked with their silver purity (such as .999 or .9999 fine silver) and a stated weight.

We accept all standard weights, including 1oz, 2oz, 5oz, 10oz and kilo coins, as well as fractional denominations like 1/2oz or 1/4oz. You don't need to worry about pristine condition - slight tarnishing, scratches, or minor wear are perfectly acceptable. What matters is the silver content.

Selling your coins is straightforward: package and post them to us securely, or visit one of our branches for a face-to-face service. You'll receive same-day payment once your items are received and verified. Unlike many freepost services, we're fully transparent with our pricing - what you see is what you get, with no hidden deductions.

And we don't deal in vague estimates. Our prices are published online, updated daily, and backed by real market data.

What types of silver bullion coins do we buy?

Silver bullion coins are issued by national mints primarily for investment purposes, often carrying a face value but traded for their intrinsic silver worth. At Gold Traders, we buy virtually all types, including but not limited to:

  • UK Silver Britannias (from 1997 onward)
  • Canadian Silver Maple Leafs
  • American Silver Eagles
  • Australian Silver Kangaroos and Koalas
  • Austrian Philharmonics
  • Chinese Silver Pandas
  • South African Silver Krugerrands
  • Mexican Silver Libertads
  • Royal Arms, Valiant, Queen's Beasts and other Royal Mint releases

We're happy to purchase individual coins or entire tubes, monster boxes, and even mixed lots from various countries and years. If the coins are primarily valued as bullion - meaning they're not rare collectors' items - they fall within our buying scope.

Some coins do carry premiums over spot, depending on demand or scarcity, but in most cases, their value will be closely tied to silver weight and purity. If you're unsure, we're happy to assess and clarify - and unlike many companies, we never pressure you to sell.

What affects the value of silver bullion coins?

The main factors influencing what we'll pay for your silver coins include:

  • Weight and purity: Most modern bullion coins are .999 or .9999 fine silver. We test and confirm purity and weight as part of our valuation process.
  • Live market price: Silver prices change daily. We adjust our rates accordingly and always reflect the latest spot price.
  • Size and quantity: Larger coins and bulk sales may attract higher total payouts. There's no limit to how much you can sell.
  • Brand or mint: Coins from well-known mints (such as the Royal Mint or the US Mint) tend to be more liquid and may fetch stronger resale values.
  • Condition: Minor imperfections are fine, but extensively damaged or defaced coins may be valued at scrap silver rate.

We pay by weight and purity, not face value. For example, a £2 Silver Britannia will be priced according to its 1oz silver content, not its denomination.
